Thank you, and some upcoming features
First of all, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to All C's Collectibles this past weekend to buy sketch covers. I have applied the entire $40 contribution to my Extra Life Page. It's thanks to you, that we will be able to continue to keep Children's Hospital Colorado funded through what continues to be an insecure time in our healthcare system.
Now, I don't think I need to tell you, that we're all looking at one particular communicative topic these days. In times of crisis, I've always been reminded by teachers I've had that suggests that there comes a time when we have to stop being students and start becoming artists. So, coming soon, I will begin serializing a free SDMJ short story here on Patreon. You'll be able to read the posts without subscribing on any tier. This is a story I planned for the fifth book in the continuity: The Scarlet Derby and Midnight Jay Volume 5: An American Society Featuring Justice. But because it describes many of the themes we have been seeing unfold, it's become important for me to publish this story in advance.
I may be following this release up with another free comic on the Tapas, page, featuring the same characters. That will depend on the response made on this piece. But more importantly, when opportunities to contribute to appropriate charities come up, I will be providing the links at the bottom of the story parts. Unlike the Extra Life charity, which will still be ongoing and mostly operating via twitch.tv/thescarletderby, I want to make certain that any donations made to these charities are anonymous in order to protect the public.
Thank you, once again, to everyone who supports me here on Patreon, and everyone who contributed to the Extra Life campaign.
Like the fictional heroes that made us fans of comic books, it is our honor and our duty to stand up for injustice wherever we see it. We will see through these difficult times if we have the strength to persevere, and the kindness to see others as our very own.
With Much Self E-Steam, -Mike Cervantes
